I tried loreal richesse, goldwell colorance and loreal discolor, none covered my grays and they looked so chalky and wig-like. Color toych really does have some subtle variation, it's all about the formula though. I found a Q & A by the queen of color Sally Hershberger and copied a formula she suggested to a colorist for a client. If you have grays, you need one of the neutral "0" colors and another regular color. I use 4/0 and 6/77 and I have dark brown level 3 hair. Wella runs dark and since it's a demi, make sure to go 2 levels up as it will make your hair look darker since its deposit only . Like I said, I'm a natural level 3 and combined my formula with 6/77. Hope that helps!
